We’ve got some exciting news to share: Tap Oceans: Reef Rescue is officially in development! 🐠 Our team has been dreaming, sketching and prototyping for months, and now the reef is starting to come alive. Here’s a look at what we’re building and why.
The vision
Reef Rescue is a cozy ocean game where you become the caretaker of a coral reef. It starts out struggling: bleached coral, drifting litter, and very few visitors. Tap by tap, you clean it up, plant new corals, and bring it back to vibrant, colourful life.
As the reef recovers, creatures return. Clownfish settle into anemones, turtles glide by, and schools of fish shimmer through the coral you’ve grown. Every choice you make shapes a living world that feels like yours.
What you’ll do
- Restore damaged reefs by clearing plastic, ghost nets and debris.
- Grow and design your reef with dozens of corals, plants and decorations.
- Discover sea creatures, each with their own needs and fun facts about their real-life counterparts.
- Relax. No timers, no violence, no game over. Just calm, satisfying progress at your own pace.
Built for mobile and PC
We’re building Reef Rescue mobile-first, with one-finger controls that make it perfect for a quick session on the bus or a long, chilled-out evening on the sofa. And because a mobile-first game runs beautifully on computers too, we’re also bringing it to PC, so you can dive into the same reef on whichever screen you prefer.
We’re aiming to run smoothly on a wide range of devices, including older phones and budget laptops, because caring for the ocean should be open to everyone.
Play that makes a difference
Reef Rescue isn’t just about a virtual reef. Real coral reefs are among the most threatened ecosystems on the planet, and we want our game to help players learn about them and support the people working to protect them. We’ll share more about how play can connect to real-world ocean impact as development continues.
